I extend sincere gratitude for taking your time to visit the Zanzibar Maisha Bora Foundation (ZMBF) website which is a newly established charitable organization.

The rationale behind conceiving this Foundation is to see how best I can also attribute my time and ideas towards the national efforts of boosting economic development, health and wellbeing of Zanzibaris, particularly women, children and young people. Furthermore, given my position as the First lady of Zanzibar, a mother, a wife and a daughter, I believe I am well placed to understand the needs and multiple roles played by women in the society, thus necessitating empowering them economically, in decision making and health wise. This reaffirms the famous wise quote which says: “when you empower a woman you have empowered the family, society and the world at large”. I am committed to do the same to Zanzibari women.
