Former Member of Parliament for 30 Years through the ruling party Chama cha Mapinduzi, Deputy Minister and Minister for over 14 years, and as the first woman to hold the post of Minister of Finance has enabled Madam Zakia Mamdan Meghito contribute strategically to the National Development Framework for the United Republic of Tanzania including the health sector.
She has also served as Regional Commissioner, District Commissioner, and a Program Manager in International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) Tanzania for the program on Women and Youth where she gained experience in reaching all groups including the marginalized groups in the community
